The Big Dummy did not like walking up 3 flights of stairs, so she moved north. Good luck Big Dummy.

How to Fit a Longtail Bicycle in a Prius

I used to drive a 1990 Volvo station wagon. That thing has nothing on the Prius. I swear, Toyota designed this hatchback to be the perfect size for everything. I'm always amazed at what fits in this car.

Xtracycle Night in the Ville

It was a nice night in Naperville, so Tristan and I took our bikes on a ride around town. We returned a few things at the library, cruised around downtown, and ended up getting some Colonial right before they closed. A good ride minus getting honked at by a dude in his pickup truck.

I hope those drivers see the Big Dummy hanging off the curb

Drums on an Xtracycle

Kev approves

After hauling the video game drum set so long ago, I decided to step it up and bring my real drums to band practice with the Big Dummy. The ride was only about 2 miles, so we weren't too worried about things going wrong. Hauling all these oddly shaped items was a little more challenging though, and I had to repack a couple of times.

By the way, I'm back to post some more regular adventures on here. I spent the winter commuting to and from Chicago on my budget winter ride, the Scattante Americano. It has gotten the job done and been a pretty fun fixed gear ride, but it feels good to finally get the Xtracycle out and have more fun.

One other fun time I had last summer was riding the Big Dummy to Chicago and back over a few days, about 35 miles one way on the route I took. It was a lot of fun going a more significant distance, and none of the streets were bad until I got to North Avenue, which I probably won't take again. One goal this year is to pack up the bike with some camping gear and go on some weekend tours. Let me know if you're interested!

New Website Coming Soon

Hey everyone! I've taken quite the break here, but I'm going to be posting on a regular basis again coming up soon. (I've been on some pretty great rides since the last post)

Also, I've created a new website. I'm adding things slowly, but check it out in the coming months.

See you soon!

Horses Love Cargo Bikes

This week, I took a ride with my sis to the barn to drop off some wood shavings for her horse to pee on. It looked nasty out and there was some lightning to the north of us, but luckily we stayed dry the whole time.

These bags of shavings are really heavy, but like everything else, they fit perfectly on the Dummy.

On the way back, we took the long way through the Danada-Herrick Lake Trail, which was a really nice little ride.

Route From the Party House

All of that stuff was at my sister's house because my graduation party was a few days before. As with IKEA and many other trips I take, the way there was poorly planned and streets were bad, but the way back was way better.

Here's how I got back.

-All of my riding was done off the road until Modaff

-Once I hit Ogden, the bike path along 75th street starts

-There are a couple areas where the path zig-zags off the street so maybe closer to 11 miles
